Pete's Post is fast becoming a recognised supplier of postal services for businesses and the general public throughout New Zealand. Denise McBeth, Director, recently won the Businesswoman of the Year Award. Denise, together with husband Murray, purchased New Plymouth man Peter Bell's postal service five years ago. With a large team of 125 people contributing, Pete's Post aims to one day be able to provide it's products from Cape Reinga to Bluff.

In many ways Brebner Print is a typical 100% privately owned New Zealand business, except that it's directors are definitely hands-on. Started in 1978, by Mark Brebner - a printer by trade - together with business partner Neville Smith, their management style has grown with the company's reputation for high technology, quality and innovation. When Rod Stone of Brebners required a high speed, low running cost digital overprinting device he spotted a Ricoh Priport product feature in the New Zealand Printer Magazine. After careful needs application analysis by senior Brebner personnel and OPTL, a total solution was implemented. This included a Ricoh Priport powered by a computer interface including a database developed by OPTL to Brebner's specifications.

Since 1985, The Snowfed has been the daily source of news and information for the people of Methven, Mt Hutt Village. The Snowfed is edited by Toni Wardlaw and is assisted by graphics designer Anne-Tonia Orr. The free publication supported by the Methven community has grown rapidly in size - sometimes printing up to 30 page A3 booklets (28 A4 booklets) - featuring both local news and advertisements.

When the copier struggled to keep up with the growth in volume, a Ricoh Priport JP8500 was installed and is used weekly for printing the Snowfed. According to Toni Wardlaw the print time and cost was almost halved.

"I was searching for an efficient cost effective method for printing the Snowfed that would be more reliable then a copier and have a lower running cost. At first, I didn't consider that the Priport to be relevant to my needs - thinking, that it was just another copier. But after taking a closer look at the product with OPTL, and talking to other Priport users, it was time to make a case to the finance committee. Of course the board needed some convincing, but taking delivery and witnessing the Priport's performance, were all that was needed to make the order a sure thing. We printed some twenty thousand sheets virtually non stop on the day of installation. We did not get any paper jams and the machines did not overheat."

A Priport JP8500, an RCP80 interface, a paper folder and a combination of mac and pc's are the backbone of Snowfeds digital printing system. In the three months the Ricoh Priport system was installed, it has produced over two hundred thousand copies with no paper jams or services required. Tauranga Intermediate School is the largest school of it's type in New Zealand, catering for over 1100 students between the ages of 11 and 13. Located in the sunny Bay of Plenty, Tauranga is one of the fastest growing cities in New Zeland.

The school consists of 28 mainstream classes, one satellite special needs unit, two bilingual classes, four accelerated classes, one multi-media class and one booster class; a total of 37 in all. Facilities are modern, it has a large cultural and recreation centre with adjacent all weather playing courts, state of the art technology and science block, adminstration centre and library.

Tauranga Intermediate School has a vision of using the latest technology product to provide resources to students, teachers and parents. When the time came around to upgrade the old Duplicator, Ricoh Priport was chosen and promptly installed to deliver an exceptional and seamless service to students, teachers and administration staff alike.
